The Eurosafe Project aims at creating awareness and lifelong
learning on Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). According
to estimates issued by the ETUC (European Trade Union
Confederation), about 30% of the EU workforce suffer from
muscular-skeletal disorders (MSD) which are the primary
source of occupational health complaints reported by workers.
RSI are a group of disorders that can affect the muscles,
ligaments, tendons, nerves, and other soft tissue in areas
such as the shoulder, arm, fingers, wrist and hands. RSI
is a musculosketelal disorder brought on by repetitive
movements.
This awareness and lifelong learning will be achieved
by conducting a survey in Malta, Italy and England. The
core aspect of the project will be the development of
a curriculum and course which will assist workers to create
awareness through life long learning. The final aspect
of the project will its final objective in developing
a policy paper which can be applicable at firm level,
national level and European level. |
